Mark Sousa, aka Dr. Pond, has been installing water gardens and features for over ten years. He has extensive knowledge of water gardens and the products used in them while providing outstanding customer service.
Mark is a hands-on business owner and is involved in every aspect of this corporation. During the 15+ years he has been in water garden sales and installation, Mark has traveled throughout the United States for training classes, seminars, pond builds, and to visit product wholesalers. Through Aquascape, Inc.'s extensive training classes and seminars, Mark has established Action Water Gardens, Inc. as a Certified Aquascape Contractor.
He also participated in the World's Most Extreme Pond Build in July 2008. From April to October, Mark will be servicing and installing water features throughout the state of Connecticut and from November to March (as well as the rest of the year), he is always available to his customers by appointment for in-store or on-site consultations.
Bobby is a member of our service crew and retail store. Bobby has a passion for wild life and the outdoors. He grew up living on a lake, which led him to have an appreciation and love for aquatic wildlife and vegetation. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be working outdoors and with nature. Bobby first started off in the landscape field and then pursued higher education at the University Of Connecticut for Horticulture and Turf Grass Science. At the University he was exposed to opportunities where he was able to work with professors as a Research Assistant in studies that revolved around native plant cultivars and their interaction with bees and butterflies.
Shortly after graduating from UCONN, Bobby joined us here at Action Water Gardens, Inc. You will see him working either at your pond or at the retail shop; his skill with plant life and customer service makes him a great addition to our team. Working directly under the owner, Mark Sousa, makes him even more eager to learn more about the water garden industry. Since joining AWG, Bobby has traveled to Illinois for Pondemonium, a water feature event that has specialized training classes and seminars geared towards pond maintenance and water feature builds and designs. At this considerable event, Bobby took first place in a pondless waterfall build! His progression and commitment to this industry is only growing making him a great asset here at Action Water Gardens, Inc.
Tess has grown up in a family caring for plants and wildlife and has adapted the trait herself. Although she went to school at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI for Travel Tourism, she has always loved nature and growing things from scratch. She has been active in helping her parents with their vegetable and flower gardens and has a knack for tending to the fish here at Action. Because of her outstanding customer service skills, she will always seek to help a customer in need and offer any advice to sustain your dream water feature. Tess has had hands on experience in the field with Mark, himself and is no stranger to the hard work of building a pond, waterfall, fountain, etc. As store manager she will strive to make the best out of your experience here at Action Water Gardens, Inc.
Jeremy, a team member of our service crew is great with his hands. Jeremy is a quick learner and his knowledge in building water garden displays and designs has been an asset to Action Water Gardens, Inc. Jeremy has a background in the electrical field, as well as a specialized mechanic. These skills made him well suited to be a part of our maintenance and construction team here at AWG. Jeremy, being very technical and detail orientated, has acquired a knack for constructing water feature builds as well as operating and maintaining our heavy equipment. Engines and mechanics come second nature to him. At work we may call him a gear head, but we also like to think of him as the gear that drives our team here at AWG. His positive personality and mechanical knowledge has made him an important part to our team.
