Water Feature "Facelifts"

Does your pond or outdoor water feature need a “facelift” this spring? Action Water Gardens, Inc. is your go-to Certified Aquascape Contractor for the job. The circumstances for water feature renovations are always different. In some cases the homeowner "inherited" the pond when they moved into a new home, or another company built the feature. Sometimes we even built the feature many years prior! The most important thing is that you are able to enjoy a beautiful and headache-free water feature for years to come.

Water Feature Upgrades & “Facelifts”

Maybe you want to spruce up your existing water feature or add some personal touches? There are endless options! Adding lights, fountains, spitters, and other decorative elements will ensure that you have a one of a kind water feature.

Having a variety of plants will also make your water feature unique, as well as add functionality. Plants play a huge role in filtering the water because the root systems serve as additional surfaces for beneficial bacteria to grow on. They also help “soften” the edge of the pond and make it look more natural. Adding planting shelves/pockets is another great way to make your water feature look as if it were created by Mother Nature herself.

Upgrading some of the structural and mechanical components of your current water feature can make a world of a difference as well. Adding a waterfall, additional tiers, or even a second waterfall will add a whole new feel to your existing feature. The sound of water cascading down the rocks really sets the scenery for your own backyard oasis.

If you currently have an external filtration system such as a canister/pressure filter, then you might want to look into adding a Biofalls filter and skimmer. This is the most effective and natural looking way to filter the pond because the components are incorporated into the pond and waterfall (no tubes or intrusive equipment around the landscape). The skimmer will house your pump so it will no longer have to sit on the pond bottom (or get clogged with leaves!).

Complete Rebuild Projects

There are some exceptions, but generally in a complete rebuild, we will tear out everything in the existing feature. The liner, filters, rocks, and tubing - all of it goes! We will put the new water feature in with all of the necessary components, and we will leave your yard with a brand new feature in place of your old one.

One of the most frequent questions we get with remodels, "Can you reuse my old materials for the job?"In some cases we can reuse rock (no limestone or pH altering material) , pumps, and filtration devices (if up to date and functioning properly). There is a reason why we do not reuse more of their old materials. We do this to be absolutely certain that the water feature we install for you will last for years to come. Reusing tubing, liner, or old filters can create headaches and problems in the future.

We want you to be able to enjoy your new feature instead of worrying about it, maintaining it, or wishing it could look different. We are genuinely excited to help people renovate their existing features.
