Client Testimonials

Dear Mark,

I want to thank you for everything you did. I have no idea what to expect or what the job itself entailed. The pond is absolutely gorgeous and Mom loves it! Actually we all love it. Once plantings are done in the spring it will be stunning. Plus her fish appear to be experiencing "fish nirvana." I do believe they are enjoying the bigger space as well. The waterfalls are amazing and the sound is wonderful. The little "cave" for the fish is also quite the bonus for them. I can't say enough great things about it. Of course Mom can!

You are certainly a hard and dedicated worker who creates amazing works of "living landscape art." It was nice to see you and get a chance to talk for a while. Ideas have been set in motion and perhaps there will be some pond work, for our place, in the near future.

Thanks again!

Mark came out to do a consult on our very old, very broken small pond/waterfall. It had not worked for four years, since the fire destroyed the house. One of his suggestions during his extensive review of the area was a pondless waterfall, which was what we decided to do. Mark has over 20 years experience in water gardens. He and his crew did a magnificent job. His vision for what rocks would work in which locations and what could be accomplished in that particular spot was fantastic, and when he was finished, not only were we more than pleased, he left the area very clean. The sound of the falling water and the beauty of the spot at night as well as day is a huge improvement in the landscape. We highly recommend Mark to anoyone considering a water garden of any kind.

Dear Staff,

Recently, we have had the opportunity of doing business with Action Water Gardens Inc.. They installed a waterfall and upgraded our pumping system in our pond. We have been very pleased with the companies level of skills. The work was done in a professional and timely manner, and we are pleased with the final outcome.

The staff was also very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations of the plants that were required to enhance the job.
We highly recommend them, and have given permission to use us as reference.

Yours truly,

Mark,

Having Action Water Gardens install a pond in our backyard was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. The help offered by the staff, from the design all the way to helping select plants and fish, was unsurpassed. Each trip to the store was looked forward to. One day, the store wasn't open, however Mark was there and spent a half hour dispencing advice. His professionalism is appreciated and his enthusiasm is contagious.

We're looking forward to spring more than ever, in anticipation of the re-opening of our eco-system. Can't wait to see the fish and the frogs.

Sincerely,
Mike & Heather

Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for taking care of my pond on such short notice. It really needed cleaning. The people that came to visit, spent alot of time enjoying the beautiful sounds of the waterfall and feeding the fish. You did a great job. I really appreciated that you helped me out as you did, especially at such a very difficult time.

Thanks again,

Dear Mark and Employees,

Thank you so much for the beautiful waterfall and pond you and your staff built. It is exactly what my wife and I pictured in the difficult location that we have on our property.

Thanks so much for the on site stone to enhance the natural look we wanted.
You and your employees always kept the site clean during and at the completion of the project and we were pleased that you started and completed the job when you said.

Do not hesitate to use our name as a referral.
Thank you,

Dear Mark,

As I said on the phone, I couldn't be happier with the work that was provided. You're a true professional who cares about quality and is willing to take the time to make everything right. It's a delight to sit by the pool , hear the babbling water breaking over the rocks and falling into the pool, as it appears to emerge from the hillside.

Thanks again,

To whom it May Concern:

I am writing in praise of Mark of Action Construction who installed a beautiful 2000 gallon Aquascape water garden for me last September.

Mark designed a pond that far surpassed my expectations and made optimal use of my property. He made landscaping suggestions and saw the job through to create a virtual paradise in my back yard. I feel comfortable calling him anytime with questions or just to tell him how much I love my pond! He is a wealth of knowledge both from being an installer and from having his own pond.

He and his crew were professional, reliable and expedient. Mark returned in the spring for a clean upand mulching to help me get started for my first full pond season.

Mark believes firmly in the Aquascape system and products. I am sure he will be valuable and a loyal asset to your company.

Sincerely,
Jill

It is with great pleasure that I provide this letter of recommendation for Mark Sousa of Action Construction & Landscaping Services. I have been acquainted with Mark for many years and can unequivocally attest to his enthusiasm and integrity.

Mark had done other landscaping work for me in the past, so he was naturally the landscaper of choice. Mark has impressed me with his high quality of work and standards. He is a professional, reliable and very knowledgeable person.

Mark helped transform my existing water garden that was built in 1995, from a large black hole to a natural looking paradise almost maintenance free. My previous filtering system was very high maintenance. Mark presents the Aquascape system and products with highest regards. The day of transformation was a participative "build a pond day" with family and friends. Mark made it a pleasurable experience for all.

Please accept my recommendation of Mark without reservation. He would be a great asset to any company

Sincerely,

When the liner of my in-ground swimming pool ripped beyond repair I decided to try to convert the space into a water garden. In Connecticut you are lucky to get 3 months of use from a swimming pool, while a pond can be enjoyed all year.

I met Mark Sousa of Action Landscaping in Vernon, Connecticut at the Connecticut Garden show in Hartford last January. I showed him photographs of the empty in-ground swimming pool I had started to work on but never finished and asked him if he could create a water garden in that area. On the spot he came up with ideas of how to create a pond plus a stream and waterfall plus a bog, which would be an 8' by 10' biological filter. Mark was the first person who was immediately positive about the possibilities of turning the old pool into a water garden. I enjoyed the way he talked to me and didn't act like he knew more than me about building a pond.

The project was more expensive than most because he first had to fill in the old pool 18' x 36' pool with dirt compacting it layer by layer to create a stable soil that could be cut into a pond and a stream and a bog without collapsing.

Mark was very accommodating to my ideas before starting work making a drawing to show me what he planned and then during construction he encouraged my ideas. I showed him pictures of other ponds in books that I liked and a couple that I didn't like and he worked those ideas into his plan for my pond.

A month before starting construction we went boulder shopping because I wanted several large boulders to help avoid the necklace look I sometimes saw in books and online. Mark patiently positioned each of the four large boulders using the front-loader with a sling to move each one while I decided where and how I wanted each one positioned.

It was like watching an artist working to see Mark laying out the pond (16' x 20') and 12' stream and bog (8'x 10') and then positioning each stone in and around the pond and the stream to create a natural look similar to the pictures I had showed him earlier in the year.

Mark was always courteous, professional and careful not to damage the rest of my yard while building the water garden. I will recommend him to anyone who sees my pond and wants one of their own.
